A new position created for the coming year has been Operations Coordinators for SSF, Juniors and the Seniors at Ringwood City.
We are pleased to Announce that Robert Blyth has volunteered for the OperationsCoordinator SSF and is already settling into the role. He has commenced communicating with the SSF team officials and has already commenced work to coordinate and support the activities in this part of our club.
He recently wrote to the SSF Coaches and Managers:
“As our club and the game of football expands I believe we have a very important part to play as we are the first base in kids involvement with football and our club Ringwood City. We need to make sure its a positive and fun introduction.
I think we would all agree that Dave Rapson has done a terrific job and gone beyond what is possible for one man in organising the SSF but I think its time we all took a bit more responsibility not just for our own teams but for the club and the ssf as a whole.I am happy to announce that Dave will still be involved with the club via our under 7′s so will still be at the club but I will now be your point of call on all things SSF.”
This still leaves us with two more Operations Coordinators to find for the 2012 year.
So what do we all need to do?
If you would like to discuss the role or can think of someone we should speak with please contact me directly.

Tim Townsend

Dear Members,
As they say in the classics, ” ’tis the season to be jolly” – and from all of us at Ringwood City, we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Be safe, enjoy family and friends, but remember that preseason is just around the corner, and every extra helping of Christmas pudding will make it just that little bit harder.
Whilst 2011 is now behind us, many at the Club are already in planning for
2012:
- The application for Promotion of our Senior Teams is in full swing, and Ringwood has been short-listed for interviews this week. Good luck to those that are involved;
- The feedback and attendance at the trial / showcase days is being consolidated, and all prospective new members will be contacted to encourage them to make the switch to our great club;
- We are still settling in to our new Clubrooms, but for all that have seen the Wilhelmina room, you will know it is still a little bit sparse and we are still locating all of the memorabilia from Wilhelmina’s early years to display in a fitting way.
We are also starting to understand what the new facility means to the club financially, and the cost of some of those changes:
- Access to Jubilee Park all year round, as well as Manson in the winter season, has additional rental commitments (based on our best guess, we will need both venues for many years to come);
- The new lighting at Jubilee is first class – but our contribution to the installation ($10,000 in April and $2,000 per annum) starts next year;
- Installation of the audio Visual equipment in the Wilhelmina room is quite significant (almost $20,000);
- New furniture across the kitchen, Bar, Kiosk and Function room – $10,000 thus far and a further $10,000 earmarked in 2012.
Whilst the club has utilised its cash reserves for a fair part of this to date, we will still need to raise further funds as we move forward. For this reason, the fee increase for 2012 is a little more than members have been used to in the past. The fees set by the board for next year will be as follows;
| | 2011 | 2012 |
| Small sided football | $210 | $270 |
| Juniors (and over 18 students) | $310 | $370 |
| Seniors (over 18) | $350 | $420 |
Note: the usual discount of $25 per additional family member will continue to apply to all playing memberships |
We recognise that family budgets can only go so far, and the fee increases have been kept to the minimum possible whilst recognising the increase in costs we face. In comparison to other clubs and other codes, we continue to aim to be moderately priced but without sacrificing the safety of our facilities or the benefits we are able to offer.
Further information on our 2012 registration day will follow early in the new year, but in the meantime if you have any concerns regarding this or any other matter, please contact any of the committee members and let us know.
Kind regards and Seasons Greetings,
The Board
