Dear Ringwood City SC 2021 Member,

Welcome to the start of 2021 and what we hope to be a fantastic year for Ringwood City Soccer Club (RCSC) and for all our members, sponsors and supporters. Preparations are well underway for 2021 season. Check out the update below for important items for the season ahead!

Community League

Registrations have been open since November for the community league. We are at about 85% booked. Thanks to our amazing Registrar; Ken Setiawan and Treasurer; Cheryl Raso who have both done an enormous amount of work in communicating to existing and prospective members and developing new processes to improve registrations, payments and manage the Covid refunds and rollovers. This has been a huge process and they continue to do a great job – thanks Ken and Cheryl!
Age groups that are fully booked include:

  • Boys U8, U10, U11, U12, U13
  • Girls: U17

We currently have waiting lists for the age groups that are full. If your child is registered to play and for any reason no longer intends or can play, it would be appreciated if you could notify us as soon as practical by email (registrar@ringwoodcitysc.com.au) so we can offer the position to another family.
Age groups that have limited availability include:

  • Boys: U9, U14, U15, U17 Boys
  • Mens: U18
  • Girls: U9, U10, U12, U14 and U15

Community League training and competition dates

Players will be contacted by their coach or team manager to confirm the start dates for training. This is reliant on coach and pitch availability. Most teams have an assigned coach and team manager, however we are always looking for additional volunteers, so please check in to see if there is anything you can do to support your child’s team.

  • Season start: Saturday 18th / Sunday 19th April
  • Season end: Saturday 4th / Sunday 5th of September

Football operations team

RSCS has three paid roles within the football operations team, the Junior Boys Football Coordinator (currently looking to recruit), the Female Football Coordinator and the JBNPL / Seniors Coordinator.  These roles are responsible for the organisation of teams, coaches, scheduling and pitch use. Their contact details are listed below if you have questions:

Female Football Coordinator

RCSC are pleased to announce that Ryan McCann is our new Female Football Coordinator. Ryan brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the role. His passion for female football comes from having two daughters that both play and wanting to push Ringwood City to be the no. 1 female club in the Eastern suburbs. With our new senior women and reserve coaching staff now in place and the clubs ambitions for our senior women to be competing at NPLW and our junior girls to be JGNPL in the next few years, this is the environment he wants himself and his daughters to be part of. Ryan is currently doing his advanced C-licence course and will be well placed to guide all our junior girls coaches this season and well into the future. That future will require a steady stream of quality players coming through from our junior programs, ready to step in to our senior and reserve squads. This role sits within the Football operations team. You can contact Ryan by email.

Call out for a Junior Boys Football Coordinator

Ben Jones has previously been the Junior Boys Football Coordinator and is ready to hand this role over to a new recruit so that he can focus on coordinating the JBNPL and the Senior Mens comp. RSCS are looking for a new Junior Boys Football Coordinator to coordinate the community boys teams, coaches, scheduling and pitch use. This role also sits within the Football Operations Team. If you would like to find out more or would like to nominate for this role, please contact Ben Jones or Rob Blyth.

JBNPL and Senior Mens Coordinator
Ben Jones has been a part of RCSC for many years now and is leading the Football Operations team as well as coordinating the JBNPL and the Senior Men.  Ben can be still be contacted via this email until the junior role has been filled.

Team Manager Co-ordinators

RCSC has 2 fantastic team manager coordinators; Matt and Julie Slater.  If you are a team manager or if you are interested in volunteering, please contact Matt and Julie and they can provide you support in this role. Team Managers induction will be held in March, more information to follow.

JBNPL Competition
RCSC has 4 NPL Boys teams in Under 14’s – U17’s. Teams are in full swing with training and preseason competition well underway.  First game of the season will start on 28th February.

Technical Director (TD)
All NPL clubs are required to have a TD in line with competition rules from Football Victoria. The committee are pleased to announce the appointment of our new Technical Director for RSCS JBNPL competition – Sai Gottipatti. Sai comes to the club with FFA C & B licence and extensive experience coaching at the highest level of youth and professional football in the United States, with a Major League Soccer side and in Australia, with an A- League and multiple Semi-professional sides. Sai’s role is funded through the JBNPL registrations and his focus will be on attending JBNPL training and competition and working with the NPL coaches. A focus will also be ensuring that the players, parents and our club aspires to the club values.

Club Values

RCSC are actively working to create a club with the following values: Respect, Integrity, Unity, Leadership and InclusiveThese values align with the Football Victoria Strategic Plan 2019-2022. These values are important for on and off the field behaviours and from all members of our club community including players, families, officials and volunteers.

RCSC aspires to these values. (Football Victoria Strategic Plan 2019-2022)

Committee changes

RCSC Committee wish to thank Helen Matsouksas and Adi Selimanovic for their contributions on the committee over the previous few years. Both Adi and Helen stepped down from the committee just prior to Christmas. Thanks also to Katharine Tregellas who has been the club Registrar for a few years, thanks Kat for your huge contributions to the club!

The registrar role has been filled by Ken Setiawan who has been a general committee member.  We also gratefully accepted the nomination of Andrew Cerantola to the committee, Andrew has filled the role of IT coordinator and will assist the club with website updates and general IT needs which has already been a huge assistance.

Additional volunteers needed

RCSC are always on the lookout for additional volunteers. The roles we currently have available include:

Communication coordinator: assisting with newsletters, social media posts and correspondence with canteen manager. (flexible role which requires approximately 1-3 hours per month)

Other: if you wish to volunteer as a once off or in a specific role we would love to hear from you. Running a club takes a great deal of effort and more hands mean lighter work for all plus helps to build a stronger club.  Please contact us.

Sponsorship Opportunity – WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

We are calling on members and friends of Ringwood City Soccer Club who are business owners to offer much needed financial support to keep our club sustainable.

As one of the biggest community sports’ clubs in the eastern suburbs, Ringwood City has over 500 members and a growing social media following. Now that we are expanding into some of the highest levels in soccer through JBNPL and our Division 1 Senior Women’s team, being a sponsor at Ringwood City SC has never been more rewarding.  We have a range of packages to choose from for your business to gain exposure for your brand & services.

As we are a local community not-for-profit sports club, our major source of revenue is generated from membership fees and donations received from generous individuals & businesses. These funds are then reinvested into the club for the benefit of all members and our local community.

For 2021 season, we still have excellent opportunities to have your business proudly displayed on the front of our Division 1 Senior Women’s team or Senior Men’s team jerseys. For more information, please contact us.

Club AGM

Please keep an eye out for the notice of intention for our Club AGM. The AGM is open to all 2020 members.

Wishing all our members, supporters and sponsors a fantastic 2021 full of good health and happiness.

Kind regards,
RCSC Committee
