Dear Members,
As they say in the classics, ” ’tis the season to be jolly” – and from all of us at Ringwood City, we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Be safe, enjoy family and friends, but remember that preseason is just around the corner, and every extra helping of Christmas pudding will make it just that little bit harder.
Whilst 2011 is now behind us, many at the Club are already in planning for
2012:
We are also starting to understand what the new facility means to the club financially, and the cost of some of those changes:
Whilst the club has utilised its cash reserves for a fair part of this to date, we will still need to raise further funds as we move forward. For this reason, the fee increase for 2012 is a little more than members have been used to in the past. The fees set by the board for next year will be as follows;
| 2011 | 2012 | |
| Small sided football | $210 | $270 |
| Juniors (and over 18 students) | $310 | $370 |
| Seniors (over 18) | $350 | $420 |
Note: the usual discount of $25 per additional family member will continue to apply to all playing memberships | ||
We recognise that family budgets can only go so far, and the fee increases have been kept to the minimum possible whilst recognising the increase in costs we face. In comparison to other clubs and other codes, we continue to aim to be moderately priced but without sacrificing the safety of our facilities or the benefits we are able to offer.
Further information on our 2012 registration day will follow early in the new year, but in the meantime if you have any concerns regarding this or any other matter, please contact any of the committee members and let us know.
Kind regards and Seasons Greetings,
The Board

Unfortunately, we all have personal lives as well and some times the clash of work, family and club is a difficult one to balance. Jacek Sompel has served on our board for some time now and has been a willing supporter of the club both as a senior player and board member. Whilst we all have high hopes and expectations for his playing career in 2012 it has come to a point where Jacek’s work commitments, which are particularly demanding at this time, mean that fulfilling the needs of the club in the role of Club Communications Coordinator will no longer work and Jacek has decided to step down from the board to allow us to seek a new person to join the board in this role. Jacek will continue to support the club through development of our web site which he has been responsible for developing and implementing. On behalf of all club members we thank him for his efforts and input.
Mat Winzenried (Secretary) will be overseeing updates to the web site until further notice. secretary@ringwoodcitysc.com.au
So what do we all need to do?
We are now looking for a Club Communications Coordinator and would like to hear from club members interested in the board role or who know of someone that we should speak to within the club.
This role is responsible for the effective communication with club’s general membership.
Key to this is the coordination of the clubs team managers and through the team managers effective communication to the general membership.
Key responsibilities include:
* To coordinate and manage the issuing of club wide communications
* Coordination the use of the club web site to provide an effective communication tool with the membership
* Organisation of regular Team Managers meetings to gain feedback and disseminate club information
* Effective utilisation of the team manager structure to communicate with and influence the general membership of the club
* Collation and dissemination of Team Managers Manual before training and season commencement
* Dissemination of Kit Bags to each Team Manager/Coach prior to season commencement in conjunction with the Purchasing & Merchandising Coordinator.
* Organisation of regular email contact with Team Managers for operational functions of each team
* Coordination and running of the Team Photos activity
* To work closely with a non Board members who could shadow these duties during absence or unavailability – All ready in place.
* To Find, Appoint and Manage the Social Coordinator/Committee:
* Social Coordinator/Committee – The Social Coordinator or committee is responsible for developing a program of social activities for the club. These activities should involve players, parents and officials. A social calendar will need to be developed and publicised early in the season and groups called on from within the club to coordinate and manage these events.
This is an exciting time at Ringwood City and the opportunity to join the board provides a way to get involved in your club and it’s future.
If you would like to discuss the role or can think of someone we should speak with please contact me directly.
Regards

Great news this week for Ringwood City as we have been advised by the FFV that our application for promotion from Metro League to 2012 Provision League 3 has been successful. We have applied unsuccessfully for this promotion for the past 4 years so the celebration at our success is felt by many. Whilst the senior players have been well aware of this application and some have chewed their nails in anticipation we should take a moment to appreciate the importance of this to our whole club. With our stated direction of One Club – One Future this provides our senior playing group an opportunity to contest at a higher level and play for promotional opportunities based on their performance and results. On Sunday our new Senior coach John Di Martino met with the senior playing group with an open invitation to all our U18s, 3rds, Reserves and our First Team players from 2011. The turn out was good and provided an opportunity for us to announce the decision from FFV and for John to talk with the players about his coaching and playing philosophies.
This is our first step for the club back towards the level of football that will show the club as a quality competitor and most importantly provide the basis of our playing culture as we embrace competitive and social football. Importantly, John spoke during his presentation of the plans to involve the senior players with the junior teams through supporting our coaching structure and working with the whole club to develop a common culture.
Special thanks should go to all who have worked hard on our application for promotion not just on the 2011 application but for the many others through the previous years. Special mention to Lisa hood – Council and Club Relationship Coordinator who coordinated our application and Martin De Korte – Coach and Player Development Coordinator who represented the structured and developing support for coaches at the club. The feedback from the FFV highlighted the importance of and how impressed the federation were with our clubs commitment to common goals and values.
We wish the senior group well for 2012 under the guidance of John and look forward to getting to as many games as we can to support our team as they represent all of us in the coming year.
